Accommodation

  • When can we move into Halls?

    Move in weekend is 21st September & 22nd September. You will be emailed an allocation time to meet into Accommodations* 

    * Check with Accommodation. 

    When does Freshers Week Start? 

    The first event on the Wristband is The Freshers UV Welcome Rave  on 22nd September at Second Bridge – The Biggest Venue in Bath!

  • When does Accommodation Offers get sent out?

    You should receive your Accommodation Offers on and around 1-3 days After A Level Results Day. If you do not receive it after 5 Days, contact Bath Spa Accommodation Team.

General

  • What size is my bed?

    The bed sizes can vary between the different room types so it is important to know what room you are moving into so that you can ensure you bring the correct duvet and sheet set with you.

    • Lakeside Housing – single beds
    • The Gardens Housing – 124cm x 194cm – this is between a double and small double bed and we recommend bringing double bedding (with a non-fitted sheet)
    • Bankside House Single Study rooms – single beds
    • Bankside House Studio Flat – single beds
    • Waterside Court – single beds
    • Charlton Court – 3/4 size beds
    • Twerton Mill – 3/4 size beds
    • Green Park House – 124cm x 194cm – this is between a double and small double bed and we recommend bringing double bedding (with a non-fitted sheet).

  • What to bring?

    Bedroom

    • Bedding – sheet, pillowcase, duvet cover (x2), pillow(s) and duvet
    • Towels and bath mat
    • Alarm clock (if your mobile phone doesn’t have one)
    • Coat hangers
    • Personal belongings to make your room feel homely

    Kitchens

    • Crockery – a couple of plates, bowls, mugs, cups, glasses
    • Cutlery and cooking utensils – e.g. wooden spoon, tin opener, bottle opener, cheese grater, chopping board, colander, baking trays etc.
    • Pots and pans for cooking
    • Tea towels
    • Airtight food containers

    General

    • Cleaning materials – washing up liquid, cloths, cleaning products (non-bleach) for basin/en-suite, duster, polish, washing powder for clothes, etc
    • Toilet rolls
    • Iron (an ironing board is provided in communal kitchens)
    • Basic food provisions to last until you do your first shop
    • Toiletries

    Items that are not permitted in halls

    The following list is not exclusive, so please check your licence agreement and Residents’ Handbook for more details

    • Deep fat fryers/chip pans
    • Candles and incense sticks
    • Barbecues
    • Electric/paraffin heaters
    • Electrical items that are over a year old that have not been PAT tested. Initial PAT testing will be offered at the start of the academic year. Information will be
    • provided at the start of term.
  • Where can I purchase items for my room?

    For students arriving in September, Uni Kit Out can arrange for bedding/kitchens to arrive at the university before you move in. 

  • Do I need a TV licence?

    You will need to buy your own TV licence, which can be purchased via their website.

  • Can I bring a car?

    As all of our halls of residence are very limited for space, residents are unable to bring cars with them to university. However all of our halls of residence are within short walking distance of Bath’s excellent public transport system, and the vast majority of our students make use of this.

  • Is all accommodation mixed sex?

    Generally accommodation is mixed sex, but we may be able to arrange single sex accommodation if there is demand. Please make it clear on your application form if you want to live in a single sex flat. We will do our best to accommodate this but it cannot be guaranteed.

  • What If I miss the application deadline?

    Students who miss the first wave application deadline on 7 June 2019 will not be guaranteed accommodation but are able to apply in the second wave which opens on 17 June 2019 and closes on 2 August 2019. If you miss the second deadline you would need to join the waiting list from the 15 August 2019.

  • How do I fill out the application form?

    Once the application system goes live, you will need the following to access the online application form:

    • Your ten digit personal UCAS ID (which you can find on any UCAS correspondence) or; 
    • Your Bath Spa/Bath University student number
    • Your date of birth.

    Please check your personal details to ensure your information is correct.

    You will be asked to select three accommodation preferences. By choosing your accommodation preferences, you are registering interest in any of these accommodation choices.

  • Can I view the halls of residence before I move in?

    There are a number of open days and applicant visit days throughout the year which will give you the opportunity to view the different types of accommodation that Bath has to offer.

    Make sure you don’t miss out on a single bit of the action. Guarantee your space at the Best Freshers Week Events at The Best Venues Across The Entire Freshers Week!

    18-25 City Events Run weekly club nights and many one – Off Specials – They run events every single week for you guys during the year. With previous years experience and incredible feedback, we can confidently say they put on the best Freshers Week. Experience. In recent years including this year – They had to cap the Wristband Allocation for ‘Returning Students’.

    Due to demand there is NO single Event Tickets whatsoever, this means if you don’t have a wristband, you won’t be able to get into any of the events – These Events will be for Wristband Holders ONLY!

    We encourage everyone to buy their Wristband as early as possible to avoid paying more! – The Wristband will sell out well in advance of moving to University – at this rate before A Levels Results Day – This is by far our fastest selling year!

  • What is the Freshers Week Wristband? 

    The Wristband gives you entry to all 6 Events across freshers week. Sunday – Friday, you will be at the Best Events in The Best Venues having the craziest time of your lives – and at the end of it, they’ll take you to the streets of Bath in the biggest Bar Crawl you’ll ever see!

  • What Is a Wristband Ambassador?

    It’s a common role for upcoming freshers to help sell wristbands to friends. Sharing on your phone to earn rewards, drink vouchers, cash bonuses, and free entry!   • Who are 18-25 City Events

    18 – 25 City Events organiser run the student club nights for venues in the City Centre. Running weekly club nights and one off special events throughout the entire year – using all the favourite clubs, putting on massive events!

    They are running the wristband this year as same as recent years organisers.

  • Can I Buy Single Event Tickets?

    Due to the response to this years programme, it’s hit record sales so far – They will not be selling single tickets this year – Buy the wristband now at the best possible price – Whilst they’re available!
